ABOUT ME
I am an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a background in working with individuals, couples, and families navigating relational challenges, identity exploration, and major life transitions. I received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University, where I trained with a strong focus on systemic and relational approaches, along with specialized work in sex and intimacy within relationships.
My work centers primarily on couples, especially those who feel stuck in patterns of miscommunication, conflict, or emotional distance. Using conflict resolution and relational communication skills, I help partners slow things down, better understand each other, and find ways to reconnect in ways that feel meaningful and sustainable. I also work with individuals who are navigating anxiety, identity, and how they show up in their relationships. I am culturally responsive and affirming in my care.
I bring a sex-positive and affirming lens into my work and aim to create a space where conversations around intimacy, desire, identity, and connection feel natural and supported. My style is collaborative, conversational, and down-to-earth and I strive to create an environment where clients feel comfortable being honest about what’s working, what’s not, and what they want to be different. I draw from Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, helping clients notice patterns, build on their strengths, and create new ways of relating to themselves and each other.
NAVIGATING RELATIONSHIPS THROUGH LIFE TRANSITIONS
Relationships don’t exist in a vacuum, and some of the biggest challenges couples face come during times of transition. Whether that’s preparing for a child, adjusting to parenthood, or navigating shifts in identity and roles within a relationship, these moments can bring both closeness and strain.
It’s common for couples to feel disconnected during these periods, even when there is still a strong foundation of care and commitment. Changes in routine, stress levels, emotional needs, and expectations can make communication more difficult and create patterns that feel hard to break. Intimacy can also shift in ways that feel confusing or difficult to talk about, especially during and after pregnancy.
In our work together, we focus on understanding those patterns and creating space for more intentional connection. We will build practical skills like, improving communication, rebuilding emotional safety, repairing after conflict, expressing needs clearly or exploring how intimacy evolves over time. My approach is culturally-responsive, trauma-informed and affirming, and rooted in evidence-based strategies like Emotionally Focused Therapy, The Gottman Method, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. My goal is to help you feel more aligned, understood, and connected as you move through any stage of life you may be in.
