ABOUT ME

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois and Tennessee, a certified Perinatal Mental Health Clinician, and seeking certification as a Certified Mental Performance Coach (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. In addition to my role as a therapist, I am also the Operations Director for Nurture Therapy Illinois and Tennessee. I received my Master’s in Counseling with a Specialization in Sport & Health Psychology from Adler University. I have a background in treating trauma, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, phobias, sport performance challenges, and much more in residential, private practice outpatient, and university settings.

It can be terrifying to address your fears, but the strength it takes to reach out and ask for help is the first step to an invaluable process that you won’t go through alone. In our sessions, we will work collaboratively to create a treatment plan that works for you to accomplish the goals we set together. I like to approach each individual from a holistic perspective to understand you as a whole person, not just your challenges. Through this process, you will learn skills that can be utilized for the rest of your life and empower you to live with confidence.

FOCUS ON ANXIETY IN & OUTSIDE OF PARENTHOOD

We all struggle with anxiety and nerves every once in a while, but if you’re experiencing anxiety that makes life difficult to live, I can help. With a focus on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, I’ll teach you to overcome your challenges with tangible skills and practice through my specialty training in anxiety. You'll learn to eliminate obsessive thinking and conquer needless worrying that may be getting in the way of enjoying your pregnancy or new baby.

I have a special interest in utilizing sport and health psychology principles and tools in the child-birthing process, and enjoy working with athletes or exercisers who are struggling to improve their mental game during a period of life transition and bodily changes. This can be applied to other populations as well, including pregnant women preparing for delivery or students trying to navigate academic stressors.

My practice is geared toward helping you achieve results and get your life back. I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (EX/RP) orientation, aimed at helping you address your fears head-on and develop the skills to think rationally into the future. I incorporate humor and creativity into treatment while drawing from the latest evidence-based protocols so that you can accomplish your goals in a meaningful way.

I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see how I can help you.
